Yoni Mudra in pregnancy: Sonnalli Seygall is all set to give birth to her first child this December. The actor, who got married in 2023, has always been active, trying different yoga asanas and staying fit. She has continued to engage her senses and perform yoga even in pregnancy which, doctors say, is a good idea. Women who are generally active, must -- after consulting with their doctors -- continue to exercise. They can do light running, jogging, walking, Pilates, and other such exercises. Yoga, in fact, is extremely beneficial for health, and must especially be practised when one is expecting a baby. While Seygall has mastered many asanas, she was recently seen performing the Yoni Mudra, which has immense health benefits.
The 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama' actor took to Instagram to share a video, in which she was seen performing the Yoni Mudra in a high-altitude region, with majestic mountains in the background. "Yoni Mudra is referred to as feminine Adi Shakti primal power mudra. This mudra is dedicated to the female Goddess Shakti in Hinduism, where 'yoni' means 'womb'. It has so many benefits, especially during conception and pregnancy," the 35-year-old wrote.
Seygall sat with her legs crossed and eyes closed. She placed her hands near the womb and made the Yoni Mudra gesture. According to her, this mudra helps women to connect to the main source of life creation, their own wombs. It can improve fertility in women and also help them during menopause by balancing their feminine energy. It also 'establishes body and mind connection', the actor stated. Read on to find out more about this mudra.

As mentioned earlier, Yoni Mudra is a yogic hand gesture that benefits a woman's reproductive health, particularly during pregnancy. It is also known as the 'Seal of the Yoni' or 'Women's Mudra'. To practise it, you must do the following:
Not just during pregnancy, Yoni Mudra can relieve women when they are suffering from menstrual cramps and discomfort. It can stimulate the pelvic area and reproductive organs. It also eases symptoms of pregnancy, like morning sickness, fatigue, and mood swings. It is also said that this mudra can support fetal development by promoting a healthy flow of energy to the uterus. At the same time, it prepares the body for childbirth by strengthening the pelvic muscles and improving flexibility. Remember to practise it in the postpartum period, as it promotes recovery by reducing stress and regulating the body's hormones to create a balance.
Disclaimer: While regular practice of Yoni Mudra during pregnancy can lead to a more comfortable experience for expectant mothers, it is essential to consult with a healthcare provider or prenatal yoga expert before starting anything new during pregnancy.
