According to Anshuka Parwani, a celebrity yoga and holistic wellness expert, this asana is the "perfect way to release tension in your upper back and shoulders while giving your body a deep, restorative stretch". She took to Instagram to demonstrate the exercise that requires a good amount of stretching and body twisting. Take a look.
You begin by lying down on your stomach with your arms stretched sideways. Next, you roll on to one side by bending a knee. With one arm now stretched behind you, you bring the other towards it and lock the fingers. Raise your arms to the shoulder level, as demonstrated by the expert in the video. Stay in this position and breathe in deeply. Gently release your body from this position by reverting to the first posture of being on your back.
Broken Wing Pose can make you more flexible and take care of everyday stress. Also known as the Sukhasana variation or Fallen Angel Pose, this gentle yoga asana targets the shoulders, chest, and upper back.
