Digestion problem? Try these yoga poses to improve your digestive system

These restorative yoga poses can not only improve your digestion but can also calm your mind and keep stress at bay.

Practising regular yoga postures can be very helpful relieving stomach disorders and facilitating proper bowel movement. In this video, yoga expert Samara Chopra teaches us poses that help with digestion. These yoga poses are restorative yoga poses that can also calm the mind and keep stress at bay.
  • Merudandasana tones the abdominal organs especially the liver, ensuring that the digestive system functions properly. This asana also helps in the elimination of wastes from the body.
  • Bhujangasana or cobra pose can help bring your internal organs into balance. This pose opens up the chest, improves breathing, reduces stress, strengthens the shoulders, back and abdomen and more importantly improves circulation and digestion.
  • Dhanurasana or bow poseis known to strengthen and stimulate the abdominal organs. It also helps in relieving menstrual pain and discomfort and in the proper functioning of the kidneys.
  • Yogamudrasana is a meditative posture that help to release negative energy from the body. It boosts physical vitality boosting mental clarity and focus.
