A must-do yoga pose for preventing diabetes

Diabetes has become a common problem these days and yoga can be very helpful in preventing the disease. Paschimottanasana or seated forward bend is one of the best asanas to prevent diabetes. People with the condition can also benefit from this asana.

While performing the asana, the intestines and gall bladder gets smoothly pressed and stimulated while strengthening the spinal cord and nerves. It is also helpful to improve concentration and relieve back pain. This video helps you with the steps to perform this yoga pose correctly.

Word of caution:

  • Avoid this pose if you have had a recent abdominal surgery.
  • Also do not get into the pose if you are pregnant.
