People who suffer from
diabetes should eat food that keep their sugar levels in the blood consistent. This kebab recipe is sure to tingle your taste-buds while keeping your
blood sugar in control. Chana dal is low in calories and high in fibre and spinach is full of
folic acid and vitamin A.
Ingredients:For chana dal mixture- cup soaked and cooked chana dal
- tsp turmeric powder
- tsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 tsp chilli powder
- Salt to taste
Other ingredients
- 2 tsp oil
- 1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
- 1 cups thick spinach puree
- 1 tsp kasuri methi
- 2 tsp garam masala
- 3 tbsp cornflour
- tsp black pepper (kali mirch) powder
- Salt to taste
Method:
- Combine all the ingredients in a broad non-stick pan, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 3 - 4 minutes while stirring occasionally.
- Cook slightly and blend in a mixer to a coarse mixture. Set aside.
- Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds.
- When cumin seeds begin to sputter, add the spinach puree and cook for 2 minutes till the water evaporates.
- Add all other ingredients, including the chana dal mixture, and cook on a slow flame.
- Cook for a while and divide the mixture in equal portions.
- Roll out each portion into a thin flat round kebab.
- Heat another non-stick tawa and cook these kebabs on it.
- Serve hot with chutney.
