She says that there are certain foods that can cause gas and bloating in your stomach causing your belly to bulge. The air bubbles in carbonated drinks can actually cause your tummy to expand. Even foods like broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, brussel's sprouts and celery can cause gas and bloating resulting in a protruded belly. Having large meals can also make you feel bloated. It is, therefore, recommended to eat small meals in a day to keep your body in shape. Eating a lot of sodium-rich foods can lead to sodium retention in your body, causing your stomach to expand.
