When you are performing the bent over dumbbell row, ensure that you do not bend, round or hunch your back. To avoid unnecessary stress on your lower back maintain a straight line from your waist to your head. Also, avoid tensing your muscles. Also, do not perform the exercise too quickly and move in a slow, fluid motion to get the best out of it. If you are a beginner, you can start with 2-3 sets of 10 repetitions and then gradually increase the number of sets. You do not want to strain your back so do not lift weights that are too heavy for you. If you are a beginner, try these easy back exercises first.
