Since dengue has been showing newer and more complicated symptoms this year, there are a lot of tests that the patients are asked to take. Depending on these tests results, doctors decide on how to treat the patient since there is no specific treatment for dengue yet. Some additional tests are taken just so the doctor understands how to treat the patient and what medications to prescribe.
