You may have come across people who meditate stating that they feel less stressed out or much at peace with themselves and the world. We may dismiss this by thinking it is simply psychological or a placebo effect but did you know science proves that meditation can in fact change the way your brain functions.
Neuroscientist Sara Lazar conducted several researches to map the effect of meditation on one's brain and it is indeed scintillating to see the results. She concludes that meditating regularly can change the size of key regions in the brain which not just improves our memory and brain function but also decreases stress levels and makes us more compassionate. Still don't believe it? Watch this short video where Sara explains what happens in your brain when you meditate.
