Not only in India but across the world high intake of tea is common A new study in the United Kingdom has found that higher tea intake is associated with a modestly low risk of death. . Analysis of data revealed that people who have two or three cups of tea have 9 per cent and 13 per cent lower risk of death compared to those who do not have tea.
Higher tea intake was associated with lower mortality risk among those drinking 2 or more cups per day, regardless of genetic variation in caffeine metabolism. These findings suggest that tea, even at higher levels of intake, can be part of a healthy diet.
