Forty-four people have so far tested positive for swine flu in Himachal Pradesh.
A memorandum of understanding has been signed between Smile Train India, a non-government organisation, the National Health Mission and the state Directorate of Health and Family Welfare to enable free surgeries for children with congenital cleft lip and palate.
The government has already set up 182 centres since April 2015. More than 1.3 lakh women affected by violence have been assisted at these centres till date in the 33 states and Union Territories, said the statement.
This service when implemented will help patients from remote areas to reach specialised healthcare centres during emergencies.
Under the law, there is provision of a three-month jail sentence or a Rs 3,000 fine, or both, for anyone forcing a woman to follow the custom.
NTPC, Qiagen, J&J, TCI Foundation, Cepheid, IL&FS Foundation, Cipla, SJVN, JSW Energy, Ambuja Cement, Dr. Reddy's Lab participated and shared their areas of work.
