Fistula

Fistula is an abnormal permanent connection between two organs. It may occur in the intestine, the urinary tract, the reproductive organs, the blood vessels, and even in the brain. Sometimes fistulas can be dangerous, while in some cases they remain undetected. People with diabetes, AIDS, cancer and gut inflammation are more likely to develop fistula. Symptoms depend on the affected area in the body. However, pain (in the affected area) and fever are the common symptoms in most cases. Treatment depends on the type of fistula and the affected body parts. In most cases invasive procedures are usually recommended by doctors to get rid of fistula.
