Dandruff is common scalp problem where white flakes are shed by the scalp and often causes itching. There are special shampoos to treat dandruff. Many home remedies also work when used on a regular basis. When skin cells die they shed some flakes which is normal but in some cases, the cells mature earlier than usual and shed dead skin cells in the form of large, white clumps which is called dandruff.

There can be many causes of dandruff, but it mainly occurs due to growth of fungal infection on the scalp and is an infectious condition. The problem of dandruff can arise simply because of extreme exposure to heat and cold, or may be due to a complex problem like dermatitis. However, it is not infectious so it does not spread from one person to another.

Though eating a piece of amla or drinking amla juice in the morning is helpful, in order to get rid of dandruff in a more effective manner, why not make a paste out of it?
