BRHC

BRHC is the acronym for the tentatively titled the Bachelor of Rural Healthcare course to train non-MBBS physicians in rural India. The purpose of the proposed course was to generate a cadre of healthcare workers would be able to live and provide primary healthcare in rural areas (where there’s a paucity of trained doctors). However, as of March 2013 a parliamentary standing committee rejected the proposition and instead asked the government to make it compulsory for MBBS docs to undergo a one-year rural stint.
