Hepatitis Outbreak In Children: WHO Reports Over 1,000 Cases, 22 Deaths

Adenovirus is an infection causing virus which normally attacks the intestine, the urinary tract, the eyes and the respiratory tract. This infection causes respiratory illness or sometimes diarrhea. Infants and children are more likely to get such infection compared to adults. Symptoms of adenoviral infection vary depending on the organs affected. A few common adenoviral infections are febrile respiratory disease, gastroenteritis, genitourinary infection or eye infection. Since, it is a viral attack, there is no specific treatment. Hence the disease continues till the virus fades away from the body and it takes 5-7 days to get complete rid of such infection. However, the plenty of rest and proper dehydration helps body to combat in a better way.
