If you want a second child, remember it is double fun and four times more responsibility. However, before you welcome your second baby here are few things that you should definitely do till you have time. Just imagine when your life will be torn between running behind a fussy eater and changing diapers for the little one, you will not have the luxury to do a lot of things. So here goes the list:
1. Teach your first child to be independent: It is always better to have three to four years of gap between your first and second born. There is a reason for the same your child becomes little independent by that time and you can invest more time in taking care of the newborn. So make sure before you plan your second pregnancy that your first born is toilet trained, can have meals on her own, dress up and puts her toys back in her toy basket. If you train your first child from two years of age for the basics, it will be easier for you to deal with two kids when the second one arrives.
2. Go on a second honeymoon: I am not talking about the second babymoon, but a honeymoon to an exotic location. Believe me, when the other one is around you will not even have time to steal romantic glances, so get some action now. Try not to take your little one with you. Surely your mother, sister or in-laws will not mind looking after your tot while you two take a break. Don t feel guilty about leaving your little one behind, you never know if you both will get couple time together anytime soon.
3. Start a savings account: And freeze the credit card. Ideally, you should have done this after your first born. If you haven t then do it right away after the pregnancy test kit shows the two pink lines and your heart is decided on going ahead with the pregnancy. Because from buying diapers to baby food to school admission, expenses are going to be skyrocketing. Make sure you keep a fare share of the amount in this account every week.
4. Take a solo trip: This need not be a long one. Even a day s trip to a quite poignant place will do. But do this all on your own. When you become a mother, there are times you lose touch with your own inner self. But make it a point to reconnect with your soul before emerging into the journey of motherhood once again. This will help you become better in your mothering skills and leave behind some of the stressors that have been bothering you for a while.

5. Make space in your house: Yes, this is an important move. Make sure you have made space to accommodate the little one much before the delivery date. Renovate your home, buy a new bed, buy a wardrobe or cupboard. Everything that will help you deal with space crunch. Once the little one is in, and your toddler is vying for your attention you will be left with no time to plan.
6. Start making healthy choices: If you are already pregnant you won t be able to lose weight, but that doesn t mean you become sluggish. Walk, jog or do yoga anything that keeps you fit and healthy. This will help you deal better with your postpartum blues.
