While you chalk out a healthy diet plan and squeeze in time for exercise during your pregnancy, know that rest should also be a part of your pregnancy priorities. Those nine blissful months are not the right time to stretch your limits and sacrifice sleep and rest. Instead try and hit the couch often.

Remember during pregnancy, there is too much happening inside you the hormonal changes, the extra circulation, growth and development of the fetus your body deserves the much needed break and that too more frequently. Less sleep and rest during pregnancy can in fact aggravate pregnancy-induced fatigue and increase your stress levels. The key to get enough rest is to listen to your body more often. Put up your feet when your body refuses to take any more of your daily stressors and strains. Also know about the common pregnancy complaints and how to deal with them.

To make sure that you get enough rest increase your sleeping time by waking up an hour late in the morning and going to the bed an hour earlier. Also try to take power naps during the day to help revive yourself. If that is not possible try to make up for the sleep deficit during your weekends by taking naps in the noons.
