Water: This surely isn’t a beverage but it’s worth mentioning here that you need to have good amounts of water daily during your baby-bump days. You always knew about the importance of drinking water. Just follow the rule of having eight glasses with more fervor now. Have at least two and half to three litres of water a day. This will keep you hydrated, help you deal with other pregnancy niggles, beat mood swings and keep your energies up too, says Deepshikha Agarwal, sports nutritionist and dietitian, Mumbai. Here are more reasons why drinking water during pregnancy is crucial. Also Read - Pregnant women with COVID-19 at higher risk of death and severe pneumonia

Smoothies: This is not just a health drink. Milk and a fruit blended together poured in a glass, a smoothie is full of calcium, protein and fibre and does your body a whole lot of good, says Deepshikha. Choose banana, strawberry, chickoo, mango or any fruit that tickles your taste buds. But make sure the smoothie is home-made.

Mixed fruit juices: If milk is not your favourite drink, try mixing a variety of fruits together to get a healthy glassful. Get creative here, mix all the berries or the citrus ones together and there you are with a health drink of your choice.

Vegetable juices: Spinach and mint; carrot and gooseberry or bottle gourd and carrot, these are wonderful combinations for vegetable juices. But why limit to just that make your own recipes with the greens and colourful vegetables, urges Deepshikha. Here are top 10 superfoods that every pregnant woman should have during pregnancy.

Buttermilk: This acts as a cooling agent, aids digestion and keeps you hydrated too, with a great after-taste, says Deepshikha. Read some more benefits of chaas and the right way to make it.

Coconut water: This is surely a wonder drink for pregnant woman. Coconut water is loaded with micro minerals and helps to tackle fluctuating BP. Especially in the last trimester when the brewing tension of labour and delivery can take a toll, sips of coconut water can help regulate BP, says Deepshikha. Here are top 5 health benefits of drinking coconut water.

Lemonade: This has always been a safest bet till date. Cut a lemon into half, squeeze it in a glass of cold water with a dash of salt or sugar as per your taste and some twigs of mint leaves. There you are with the most refreshing easy-to-make drink with a host of other health benefits.

Non-alcoholic champagne: Well this can be your pick at dos and parties. If it s not on the list, ask for a mocktail of grape juice and orange juice.
