One way to ensure that you don t get a cold is to keep your nostrils clean, especially the hairy front part of your nose. If you do this you will rarely get into a sneezing spree due to cold or sinusitis. Here are ways in which you can keep your nostrils clean:

  • To keep this part clean, apply a little ghee to the insides of both the nostrils with your little finger.
  • Twice a day, inhale tulsi powder up each nostril like snuff.
  • Clean your nasal passage by doing jala neti
  • If you have not mastered jala neti yet, try washing each nostril by holding a handful of water cupped in your palms and inhaling some water up the nose and then expelling it.

Apart from this, practice deep breathing to ensure proper blood circulation and optimum oxygen intake to help the baby get the nutrition and to keep yourself energised. Remember, lack of oxygen could also be a reason for pregnancy-induced fatigue and make one lethargic.
