Insoluble Fiber

People with IBS should avoid foods high in insoluble fibre that are concentrated in whole grain products and vegetables. Some examples of insoluble fibre include whole-wheat flour, wheat bran, beans, vegetables and nuts. Soluble fibre, on the other hand, is recommended for IBS patients. Beans, Brussel sprouts, avocados, sweet potatoes, broccoli, pear, kidney beans, figs, apricots, carrots, apples, guavas, etc. are some foods high in soluble fibre.

Dairy

IBS patients should avoid dairy products as it can be problematic for them. Since dairy products are high in fat, it can lead to diarrhoea and make the symptoms of IBS worse in some cases. It is recommended that people with IBS should switch to low-fat or nonfat dairy products that may help ease the symptoms and feel better.
