We already know that, sleep problems can happen as a result of poor mental health, stress, lack of exercise or activities, etc. but, several studies have pointed out that it could also be caused by either Vitamin deficiencies or excess Vitamins in the body. According to experts, some Vitamins can help us sleep but it is not in the right quantity, it could cause insomnia and sleeplessness. So, before taking your supplements, always consult a doctor and never self-medicate.

Vitamin B12

Vitamin B12 is said to help people sleep and prevent sleep related disorders. If you are low on Vitamin B12, you may experience insomnia and depression, says studies. Not enough research has been conducted on B12 but, experts do state that excess amounts can also lead to sleeplessness.

Vitamin D

Lack of Vitamin D in your body can impact your sleep quality. It can cause insomnia and sleeplessness. But make sure you do not overdose yourself because excess of Vitamin D can also cause sleep problems. Vitamin D may reduce the melatonin level, which is known to control your sleep cycle. This is how it can lead to insomnia.

Experts say that Vitamin B6 can not only aid sleep but only impact dreams. But, an excess of this Vitamin can be harmful and cause sleep related problems. Supplements must be taken after consultation with a healthy expert.

Vitamin C

Low levels of Vitamin C in the body can lead to less sleep, poor sleep, disruptions during sleep and uncomfortable sleep. But, research suggests that if the levels are correct, then it will not have any side effects on sleep.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E does help you sleep but only when it is taken in the right quantity. Some of the side effects of Vitamin E deficiency include sleep deprivation, mental deterioration and memory loss.
