Sexually Transmitted Diseases

Sexually transmitted disease (STD) is basically a deadly condition passed from one person to another through sexual contact. Unprotected anal, vaginal, or oral sex can lead to this condition which is caused due to a bacterial, viral or a parasitic infection. The most concerning thing about STDs is that they are initially without any visible signs or symptoms due to which people do not even get to know that they are affected with the virus. Notably, sex is not the only way STDs are transmitted. In fact, some STDs can spread from mother to infant during childbirth or breast-feeding, through the use of unsterilized drug needles, and through blood transfusions. Shockingly, the World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that there are more than 1 million new STDs acquired each day globally. This data itself makes it important to know some of the common symptoms of STDs, so that you get to know about your condition (if got) on time and can take medications accordingly.
