Severe stomach pain

Abdominal pain during dengue may sometimes be due to indigestion or constipation. It can also be caused by subserosal fluid collection or thickened gallbladder, WHO said.

Persistent vomiting

If you’re vomiting at least 3 times in 24 hours, it is serious. You need to go to the emergency room immediately.

Fast breathing

Rapid breathing is another sign that a person has developed severe dengue.

Bleeding gums

Severe form of dengue fever can cause serious bleeding due to drop in the number of platelets (clot-forming cells).

Fatigue

This symptom may sometimes persist for several weeks after recovery, affecting your capacity to work.

Restlessness

People with severe dengue often complain of irritability or restlessness.

Blood in vomit

Having blood in vomit? Then it's an emergency. In more severe cases, a blood transfusion may be required.

Drowsiness

Drowsiness or loss of consciousness is another warning symptom of severe dengue, immediately seek medial attention.
