During an interview the actor admitted that he had resorted to drugs back during his college days. “I was into drugs during my college days and got into bad influence,” Ranbir was quoted as saying. Then the actor went on to say that he realised that he won’t be able to do anything in his life if he continues with his drug addiction.

The actress often takes to social media to share encouraging posts to portray the bad side of alcohol and drug addiction. Confirming that she is now all sober and out of the addiction, in a post, Bhatt wrote: “Two years and 10 months sober today... To any and all of you who are battling your demons and grappling with addiction issues, know that you're not alone. If I could do it, you can too. And if you flounder or fall, pick yourself up and keep going.”
