Raw Eggs: Pregnant women should always cook eggs thoroughly or use pasteurized eggs because raw ones can be contaminated with salmonella. Usually, symptoms of salmonella are experienced only by mothers. These symptoms include nausea, fever, vomiting, and diarrhea. Foods containing raw eggs are homemade ice cream, salad dressing, and homemade mayonnaise.
Raw Sprouts: Raw sprouts such as clover, alfalfa, radish and mung bean sprouts, may be contaminated with Salmonella. This is because the humid environment needed by seeds to start sprouting is ideal for these kinds of bacteria to grow and they’re almost impossible to wash off.
Processed Junk Foods: Processed junk food is generally high in calories, sugar and added fats and low in nutrients. During pregnancy, a woman needs a diet that is mainly consist of whole foods, with plenty of nutrients to fulfil the needs of the mother and growing child.
Pineapple: Containing bromelain, pineapple may soften your cervix to start contractions. This may result in a miscarriage. Therefore, it is best to avoid consuming pineapple during the early stages of pregnancy.
