There are a few drinks that needs to be removed from your diet plan which are generally termed as healthy. Some of these drinks may also carry medicinal and other equivalent qualities, but such drinks are not healthy for a soon-to-be mother. The most common drink that you need to get rid of is that cup of coffee, as excessive intake of caffeine can cause miscarriage or other health ailments, especially during the first trimester. Soft-drinks-and-Diabetes

Soft drinks contain sugar in some form – corn syrup, cane juice, or other liquid sweeteners. Sugar in any form can increase your belly size. Sugar instantly raises blood sugar levels, which leads to a spike in insulin. When this happens your body begins to store excess sugar as fat in the most convenient location, which is your belly. Alcohol: Excessive intake of alcohol during pregnancy can cause various damage to your health such as poor growth and improper brain development in the foetus. Also, it can cause mental retardation and abnormal facial features in the baby.

Green tea: Green tea contains antioxidants and it is herbal and good for your overall health. However, you need to refrain yourself from drinking it during pregnancy. Your metabolism levels generally goes up during pregnancy and intake of green tea increases it further, making your condition worse.
