A lot of mothers prefer working from home because while it allows them to spend physical time with their children, you are also being productive and are gainfully employed. While it sounds like the best of both worlds, it really isn't. It involves a lot of planning and multi-tasking. Here are a few things that have worked for me, and might help you too.

Have your resources in place: When trying to work with a young child around, you have to work whenever time allows you. Make sure you have everything you need for your job in place. Be flexible with your work: Assigning a few dedicated hours for getting your job done will not work. Learn to work in bursts and spurts, half an hour when the tot naps, 15 minutes while she's in the bath, or at a stretch at night after she sleeps.

Set your child on a routine: While the main agenda of working form home is to spend time with your child, make sure that she also lets you do your work. Set some time aside during the day where you work and she keeps herself occupied.
