Is a form of exercise: As a parent, the best gift you can gift to your child is the habit of exercising and being healthy. No matter what the style of dance, your child will up and about and getting a good dose of exercise. Also, most dance classes stress on stretching and bending before every dance session, so that, right there is your child’s everyday dose of exercise.
Helps build self-esteem: Think about it, when you dance, you smile, emote, reflect and express. Dance is the most beautiful form of communication. Dancing will help your child be more expressive and present themselves and their thoughts in a pleasing way. This will do their sense of self a world of good.
Promotes social skills: With so many kids jumping around happily and trying to perfect their stance and steps, friendships are bound to develop. Also, dances that involve partners or groups are excellent lessons in working as a team and enhancing social skills.
Helps them focus: Dance involves the mind and the body. Not only does it help develop gross motor skills, but also is an excellent way to learn balance and co-ordination. These important lessons on focus will help your child in every aspect of life.
Teaches discipline: Little kids are budding balls of energy. Dance teaches them to channel this energy in to something constructive. Also, being in the same class as other kids teaches the kids important lessons in co-existence and how to behave around others.
