If you thought that breastfeeding was all about holding the baby in the right position, perfect posture and improving lactation, let me tell you it is just a part of the entire process. The clothes you wear during breastfeeding also adds to your comfort to make it an easy and hassle free nursing session. Go through this slideshow to know which clothes to invest in during breastfeeding.
Button down dress: Safe, comfortable and easy to get started with breastfeeding. Donning a fashionable dress over your feeding bra makes it trouble-free to open and help your child with a feed without much fuss.
Button down shirts: These would be the preferable ones to wear with your denim when you are out and about with your baby. Unbuttoning few buttons will give your baby easy access to the breast and help you nurse comfortably. If you feel the need to cover up use the baby blanket or the feeding cloak for the same.
Feeding gowns: Yes, there are specialised feeding gowns designed for this purpose. Some come with a hidden zip covering the entire chest area horizontally which you have to unzip and get your baby latched on too. However, you don’t have to unzip it entirely; you can open it half way to help your baby get started on one side at first. Most of these zips open and close both ways. Some feeding gowns also come with loose elastic on the neck area which has to be pulled down while giving your baby a feed. Pick what appeals to you.
Zipped dresses: Some gowns are designed with a zip running vertically down till the waist making it a great option to be touted as breastfeeding gown. Just opening the zip till a little below the breasts helps you to feed your child while you are seated in a comfortable position.
Comfy tees: If you are in your pyjamas at home team it up with comfy cotton tees. You can just pull the tee up unclasp the hook of your feeding bra and get started.
