Got those cute baby towel, soaps, shampoo and tub for baby bath but wondering how to proceed? Here is a step-by-step guide that can help you and also tips you need to keep in mind.
Never ever leave your child alone in the bath tub as your baby can trip and drown in water as shallow as an inch.
Fill the bath tub with just two – four inches of water, which is ideal for a baby bath.
Ensure the bath water is not too hot or too cold. It should be lukewarm as that is the perfect temperature for babies.
Never put the baby in the tub when the water is still running as the water can get deeper and cooler.
Carefully slip your baby into the tub with feet first. Use one hand to support the neck and head.
Get a head support for your kid while bathing to help the baby keep the head straight as you give a bath.
Instead of using a soap, you can make a soapy solution in a mug and rub your baby with a soapy towel (towel dipped in soap solution) gently to clean the baby.
Clean the eyes, nostrils, nails and genitals before you rinse with clean water. As you do so, pour cupfuls of water on the baby to make sure the baby doesn’t get cold.
If you are giving a head bath, then make her head rest on the crook of your arms as you apply shampoo.
After you are done with bathing the baby, make sure you wrap your baby in a clean towel and gently pat dry your baby.
