Over 60% of people using telemedicine, e-pharmacy apps once a month now

Adoption Of Telemedicine & E-Pharmacy In India

Telemedicine and e-pharmacies are playing a huge role in reducing the burden on the healthcare system by providing medical assistance to people without stepping out in such a challenging situation. More than 60% of the people in India are using telemedicine and e-pharmacy apps at least once a month, according to research report by WATConsult, the globally awarded hybrid digital agency from the house of dentsu India. The usage of telemedicine and e-pharmacy services is higher in the age group of 50 to 59 years, who are considered the most vulnerable population. As per the research conducted by Recogn, the agency’s research division, there has been a 75% increase in the usage of e-pharmacy apps during the pandemic compared to the pre-pandemic situation. While 43% have been using the telemedicine service because of the convenience it offers, the rest are abiding by the COVID-19 safety protocols, said latest issue of WATPapers.

Reasons To Use Telemedicine Services

Majority of the people use telemedicine services during the COVID-19 pandemic to locate nearby hospitals/clinics to book tests, check-ups, and consultation appointments with doctors.
