Benefits Of Eating Avocados Daily

If you’re worried that eating avocados may make you gain weight, here’s fact you need to know. Eating one avocado a day may actually help improve your diet quality and lower your cholesterol levels, without affecting your waist circumference. This was the finding of a study which was recently published in the Journal of the American Heart Association. The research team, including those from Penn State, found no changes in the belly fat, liver fat or waist circumference in overweight or obese people who ate one avocado a day for six months. Interestingly, it led to a slight decrease in their LDL cholesterol levels. Further, eating avocados daily also improved the overall quality of the participants' diets during the study period. Below are some more reasons why you should include avocados in your daily diet:

It Helps Protect Your Vision

Avocados are good for your eye health as they contain lutein and zeaxanthin. These phytochemicals are also present in eye tissue, and they protect your eyes from harmful UV light. Eating avocados may thus help reduce your risk of developing age-related macular degeneration, say experts.
