Some Insights Of The Study Are

In our last seven years pan India study conducted at Metropolis, the state-wise and age-wise prevalence of iron, vitamin D, and vitamin B12 deficiencies in India showed that certain nutritional deficiencies, although improving, are still prevalent across India.

Vitamin B12 Deficiency

It was also significant (28.10%) among Indians, mostly females in the 19-30 age group. Vitamin B12 is mainly obtained from non-vegetarian foods, which could contribute to vitamin B12 deficiency among Indians as most Indians are vegetarians.

Iron Deficiency

Widespread Deficiency

Widespread vitamin D deficiency was 19.15%, with the highest in Haryana (24.93%), followed by UP (24.71%) and Delhi (23.98%).

Protein Deficiency

It is also highly prevalent among Indians across all states. According to a report by the Indian Market Research Bureau, protein deficiency among Indians is more than 80%.
