Delta Is Still ‘Dominant Strain’

The Delta COVID-19 variant was first detected in India in December 2020. The variant was responsible for the ferocious second wave of coronavirus which ravaged the country in early 2021. The variant is currently the most dominant strain worldwide and also remains the most worrisome strain of the COVID virus. Earlier the WHO had warned that the Delta is a variant of concern, which means it is capable of increasing transmissibility, causing more severe disease.
