Iodine Rich Foods
Iodine is an essential mineral that is naturally present in some commonly available foods. This nutrient is important for the proper functioning of your thyroid glands. Any deficiency can lead to swelling of the thyroid gland, known as goiter, and hypothyroidism, which causes fatigue, muscle weakness and weight gain. You may also experience hair fall, dry and flaky skin and learning difficulties. Menstruating women may experience a heavy flow if they suffer from this deficiency. This deficiency is common among people from the South East Asian countries, New Zealand and some European countries. Pregnant women and those who follow a vegetarian and vegan diet are at a higher risk of this deficiency. Fortunately, you can prevent this deficiency by including some iodine rich foods in your diet. Here, we list a few of them.
