Metabolism
Metabolism is basically chemical processes that occur within your body to sustain your life by making your organs function normally. Energy is required for these chemical processes. Notably, the minimum amount of energy your body requires to carry out these chemical processes is called the basal metabolic rate (BMR). And, this BMR accounts for 40 to 70 per cent of your body’s daily energy requirements. When your metabolism is slow, you can say that your BMR is low. And, slow metabolism can lead to weight gain, dry skin, hair loss, physical stiffness, and headaches. Here, we tell you about its common causes.
