It is commonly called 'tremor disease' and is caused by a chemical deficiency called dopamine in the brain. Dopamine is a crucial chemical that facilitates communication among the nervous system in the body.
Dr Lakshmi Lavanya, Senior Neurologist, Kamineni Hospitals, Hyderabad, shares that the brain makes it loses its ability to control the organs in the body due to depletion. This causes body parts to tremble, especially the arms, legs and head.
Research is underway worldwide to determine the exact cause of Parkinson's disease. The disease mainly affects people over 60 years of age. About 15-25% of those infected have a family history of the disease. Environmental chemicals are suspected to impair dopamine production in some people.
There needs to be an error in recognizing the taste and smell of the food. Then the facial expressions change. This is called facial masking. The body bends slightly. The movements become slower and tighter.

However, this powerful drug should be used only under the supervision of a doctor. If there are any deficiencies in the dosage amount, there is a risk of damaging the brain. In addition, this reduces stiffness and tremors in the limbs.
Another powerful treatment for Parkinson's disease is DBS (Deep Brain Stimulation). This surgery controls the progression of the disease. This surgery involves placing electrodes in the brain like a pacemaker is implanted to improve heart function. In addition, it can be prevented by removing some cells from the brain and giving an electric shock to others. As a result, dopamine production can be restored.
With ongoing research and advancements in medical technology, it is hoped that better treatments and a cure for Parkinson's disease will be found.
