When coronavirus disease (COVID-19) struck us in early 2020, a high level of uncertainty loomed around us for everything, and being at home became the norm. Avoiding visiting Hospitals for Routine vaccination for healthy kids was normal, though we knew it was the beginning of another pandemic of vaccine-preventable diseases.

With the implementation of stringent policies for Home vaccination, where first, a video consultation by a paediatrician will ensure a child's good health along with which vaccination to be covered. Following this, many Healthcare institutes have done this, and the practice has gained popularity, with increasing data on overall safety and efficacy.

Dispensing of vaccination by a qualified pharmacist and then an ambulance visiting the home along with a set of two nurses, well trained to do immunisation over the years in PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and the vaccination in the ambulance with the provision of all emergency drugs, and observe the child for half an hour for any possible side effects.

Hospital and Home vaccination can’t be compared to each other, but the idea is to keep the immunisation of little children on track and make the best possible option available.

Of course, hospital vaccination has the added advantage of a physical consultation with a paediatrician, who will ensure many other things related to the well-being of a kid; still, home vaccination is indeed a novel option for continuing vaccination, which has immense benefits.

Vaccination is the single most cost-effective intervention which saves a life for many children, whether it's Hospital vaccination or Home vaccination; routine vaccination and immunization should be covered appropriately as per the age of the child to save us from many other pandemics.
