Oil Your Hair Generously Before Stepping Out

Among the simplest possible methods of securing your hair in Holi is slathering a critical portion of coconut, almond or olive oil onto it prior to engaging in colour play. The act of oiling forms a protective layer coating the hair and the scalp, which does not allow any colours to interlock, making the hair less dry. It also simplifies post-Holi cleansing significantly and reduces hair breakages, which occur as a result of harsh pigments.

Don’t Skip Sunscreen

The Holi festivals usually take place in open areas in the scorching March sun. Use a wide-range sunscreen at least SPF 30 approximately 20 minutes before going out. This does not only shield against sunburn and tanning but also avoids irritation of the human skin, which gets aggravated with mixing them together with colours and sweat.

Wear Protective Clothing And Tie Your Hair

Wear the full-sleeved cotton garments so as to ensure that your skin does not come into direct contact with colours. Cotton can be worn for the long partying time. Plait or braid your hair so that it does not tangle and you have limited exposure to colour. Wearing a scarf or a hat would also provide some additional protection, particularly when you are sporting dry or chemically treated hair.  Also Read - Chandra Grahan 2026: Should Expectant Mothers Follow Eclipse Precautions? Be Gentle During Post-Holi Cleanup

To get rid of the celebratory colours, do not scrub your skin harshly after the celebrations. Apply the use of lukewarm water and a mild cleanser to wash off pigments. In the case of hair, apply a light shampoo and apply a deep-conditioning treatment afterwards to replace the moisture. Blot your skin and spread a cooling gel rich in moisture or aloe vera and calm the irritation.
