Heat stroke is one of the most worrying heat-related illnesses, leading to unfavourable outcomes. In heat stroke, the body's sweating system fails, making it difficult to cool down.
Heat stroke is prevalent among people exposed to high temperatures for an extended period or in intense physical activity in hot weather.
Hot, dry skin or no sweating, unusually high body temperature, loss of consciousness, rapid or increased heartbeat.
Confusion, slurred speech, seizures, headaches, dizziness
Please don’t leave the person unattended; stay with them until emergency medical services arrive.
As the temperature rises this season, the risk of heat stroke increases. Therefore, taking precautions during hot weather, such as staying hydrated, wearing lightweight and loose-fitting cotton clothing, and seeking air conditioning when possible.
