What Are Intestinal Worms?
Intestinal worms are parasites that reside in the intestinal tracts of various organisms, including humans. These parasites can infiltrate the human body through multiple means, such as contaminated food and water or contact with soil. Additionally, transmission through mosquitoes is another potential route. While numerous types of intestinal worms exist, only four pose significant harm to humans: pinworms, tapeworms, roundworms, and whipworms. Symptoms of an infestation may include diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal discomfort.
