Lower Back Pain

If you sit for long hours or your job profile involves lifting heavy objects, your lower back bears the brunt! Back ache and stiffness can negatively affect your daily life. Instead of opting for pills, try these yoga poses to deal with the pain.

Cat pose: Known as marjaryasana or cat stretch, it relaxes the tension in your back, spine and neck. It not only stretches your spine but also eases the stress on the nerves.

Pigeon pose: Also known as eka pada rajakapotasana, this asana counters the effects of sitting for long periods by improving the flexibility of your hips. It also strengthens your back and tones your abdominal muscles, says Abhishek Sharma, a yoga expert.

Upward Facing Dog Pose

Upward-facing dog pose: It eases the pressure on your lower back by strengthening your back. And the best part is that you don’t need any equipment to do this except a yoga mat. You can even try salamba bhujangasana or sphinx pose, a modified version of this pose to reduce lower back pain.
