Yes, it is important that you keep yourself hydrated before a workout, but that doesn’t mean that you can sip on anything before a workout. It is okay to gulp down some coffee, but sports drinks is a strict no. Sagar Pednekar, Fitness Expert, Gold’s Gym India asks you to avoid these drinks before a workout entirely.

Milk-based Energy Drinks

Milk-based energy drinks: Milk can be a bad choice for a pre-workout drink. Remember milk contains protein carbohydrates and fats, and it can take a lot of time for you to digest milk. Instead, it can be a good idea to drink milk post workout.

Sports Drinks

Sports drinks: You might think sports drinks are healthy but, most sports drinks are loaded with sugar and contain very little nutrition. The high sugar content in sports drinks goes right through your system to cause energy crash during a workout. You can instead gulp down some tomato juice.

Carbonated Beverages

Carbonated beverages: The fizzy drinks can not only cause bloating, abdominal pain and gas but can also make you extremely dehydrated during a workout.
