We have seen ripped actors before, but we’ve never seen anyone quite like Farhan Akhtar in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. The guy looked like he had been chiselled out of a rock! He rocked a body fat percentage of just 5% and made every guy feel inadequate during that infamous skipping scene. It took him a year to get in shape for the movie and did athletic training in the morning and weight training in the evening which would total up to 4-5 hours every single day! John Abraham

John Abraham was another guy who was always associated with fitness but he also got some help from Kris Gethin to rediscover his physique. According to Kris, ‘John predominantly trains four times a week. Each session is about 45 minutes long and is extremely intense in nature. We follow a training style called Y3T but include my own training style called DTP every third week. Ranveer Singh

Ranveer Singh, a normally lanky lad also transformed his physique for Ramleela and he did with a combination of Kris Gethin’s DTP and Neil ‘Yoda’ Hill’s Y3T. Along with that his regime includes low volume reps in the first week, moderate in the 2nd and high volume reps in the third. He also combined that with 30-35 minutes of exercise each day which included swimming, walking, light jogging and sessions on the cross-trainer. Shahid Kapoor

Shahid Kapoor’s trainer divulged that he got in shape for Phata Poster Nikla Hero using a mix of training with strength, endurance, flexibility, core balance and metabolic conditioning. He would train five times a week for at least an hour out of which two days would focus on metabolic conditions three day son strength training. And he also jogs/walks at least 7-10km every week. Bollywood certainly has some hunky men. While earlier heroes could be chubby or normal-looking, now it’s the norm to have only supremely ripped male leads in movies. That’s not really a bad thing because with the rise in obesity-related lifestyle ailments, we sure could do with some inspiration to hit the gym. Aamir Khan

Bollywood’s Mr Perfectionist simply blew us away, with his physique in Ghajini where he’s hell-bent on destroying anything in his path. Then he did again for Dhoom 3 where he had to sport a lean and athletic gymnast’s physique. He was trained by Gerald Zachilla, a gymnast himself and his regime included a mix of HIIT. He mixed this up with boxing and low and high impact aerobic exercises and also added resistance training and gymnastics exercises to it.
