Stretches To Tone And Shape Your Calves

If you run regularly or wear heels or do both, you need to stretch your calves since they tend to become tight. Tight calves can lead to injury. These stretches recommended by fitness expert Roshni Shah will not only loosen up your calves but will also define them. So click on these slides and add them to your daily workout routine.



Step stretch: Stand on stairs and place your left leg two steps ahead of you. Bend and try to touch your left toes with your hands. You will feel a nice pull on your calf muscles. Hold this position for 20-25 seconds and repeat on the other leg.



Seated calf stretch: Sit comfortably on the floor with your spine straight. Stretch your left leg out and fold your right leg. Now try to reach your right toes with your hands. Hold the position for 20-30 seconds and repeat on the other side.



Downward facing dog: From a plank pose, push off your hands such that your buttocks are pointing towards the ceiling. Now push back onto your feet so that they lie flat on the floor.
