Drumstick leaves: According to a study published in the International Journal of Phytotherapy, drumstick leaves contain emmenagogue, a compound which regularises blood flow to the abdomen, thereby easing menstrual pain [1]. Drink a tablespoon of drumstick leaves juice with few drops of honey on an empty stomach every day.
Dill leaves: These leaves contain flavanoids, which helps in maintaining hormonal balance and regulates menstrual cycle. Regular intake of dill leaves showed an increase in the progesterone secretion, which helps in stabilising irregular periods [2].
Spinach: As you age, the brain cells start to degenerate, leading to cognitive impairment. However, including antioxidant-rich spinach in your diet, you can reduce brain damage due to free radicals [3]. Be it as soup or paratha, nake sure you include palak in your diet.
Fenugreek: According to studies, adding fenugreek leaves in parathas and curries helps in reducing LDL (low-density lipoprotein) cholesterol [4]. It is because of the steroidal saponins content that prevents absorption of triglycerides and cholesterol.
