Although the delicious berry is great on its own, here are eight ways in which you can make mulberry the star of your breakfast table.

Jam

Mulberry jam: If you are worried that the big box of mulberries won’t keep for long, turn them into delicious preserves you can use for a long time. Heat 2 cups of mulberries and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice in a non-reactive pan. Stir on a low heat and add one tablespoon of gelatine to it. Flavour it with a dash of honey or agave syrup for sweetness.

Muesli

Muesli: Throw in a couple of mulberries into your muesli bowl to up the nutrition quotient. Add a dash of yoghurt and flavour it with a helping of honey.

Pancake syrup: Instead of the usual maple syrup, chocolate chips and honey, pair pancakes with a generous dollop of mulberry syrup.
