Cycling

I am a part of a cycling group, and the only person there with a child-carrier seat on my cycle. Many people have asked to click a picture of the child seat and say that they would like to cycle with their kids too. Do it, I say. It's a great way to explore places and kids enjoy it. Hurdle Race

A colleague is participating in a hurdle race with her 8-year-old and I will definitely be there to cheer her! If you are not the athletic type, a hurdle race is great for you because it's all about having fun and testing your limits. And when you do it with your child, it is all the more fun! Find out a hurdle race event, or just use the monkey bars and jungle gym in your local park to make your own hurdle race.

Babywearing

Babywearing Zumba is something I LOVE the most. Google babywearing Zumba and you will know why! Starting with a newborn, you can wear your baby and get the joints moving. It is a great fun activity and your child will join in by clapping or shaking their head to the music. Park

Toddler parents know that kids love to play chase! So at least thrice a week, we go to a park and just run! We take turns catching each other and sometimes even roll on the grass (I have sort of become immune to people gazing at us). We even race against each other and will run up to the lamppost or the plant with pink flowers in our garden. It is fun, for both of us, when it is all about having fun and doesn’t feel like a workout.

Yoga

As a working mom, but mostly because I am lazy, I cannot make time for gym. So I used to do a few stretching exercises and yoga asanas on my bed after waking up. I performed simple asanas like gomukhasana, Ardha Matsyendrāsana and of course, Surya Namaskar. Soon, my daughter of 13 months started following me and at 25 months, she can do quite a few yoga asanas!
