Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper: This saying does hold true when it comes to weight loss. The only modification being, amidst these three meals, you also eat two small snacks. Eating small yet nutritious meals prevents hunger pangs which lessen your chances of cheating on your diet.
Cardio plus weight training should be your mantra: Don’t just run endlessly on the treadmill, make sure you lift those weights too. A combination of the two helps in effective weight loss. While cardio burns fat, weight training builds muscles and burns fat all-day long giving you better results.
Check your portion sizes: Be smart when it comes to eating as it plays 70% role in your weight loss efforts. Buy smaller plates and spoons so that you feel you are eating normally but make sure your portion sizes are not too big. Always have a colourful mix of food items as they offer more nutrition from different food groups.

Have a rest day: Think weight loss is all about spending hours in the gym? You are highly mistaken. Your body needs time to recover and a rest day does just that. Apart from your body, it also gives you a breather which does not let things get monotonous. So make sure you have at least one rest day every week when you do not work out.
