Dr Manish Gupta, Consultant Neurologist, Jaypee Hospital, Noida suggests that to prevent Alzheimer's disease people must follow the given diet and also involve themselves in activities that make their brain sharper and stronger. As 21st September is World Alzheimer's day, follow these few simple tips to improve the memory from today.



Did you know consumption of cauliflower helps boost memory and also strengthens bones? In addition to including this cruciferous vegetable in diet, up the intake of green vegetables, legumes, whole grains, fish and olive oil that also help fight Alzheimer’s disease.  Also Read - Pooping While Giving Birth? Rather than snacking on junk foods, when hungry, munch some dry fruits such as almonds, walnuts and pistas, as improves the memory. According to Dr Manish Gupta, an Alzheimer’s patient must not consume sesame seeds, dried tomatoes, pumpkin, butter, cheese, fried food, junk food, red meat, pastries and sweet as they might cause harm to them.



In addition to exercising daily or walking for few minutes every day, indulge in neurobic exercises which improve brain function. Activities namely reading, playing puzzles, socializing, creative games, etc. can be some of them. Meditation can improve the problem of memory loss in the patient.
